"True Love" was originally released as a single in 2020
Solo musician and electronic composer Ex Lover is the moniker of Midlands based Dan Faulkner. Taking his musical cues from other electronic acts such as Rival Consoles, Jon Hopkins and Bonobo – Ex Lover looks to create a sound that pulls on the emotional strings that force us to act with heightened intentions. Combining an electronic and organic palette to create emotive music that aims to tell a story, often without the need for words or lyrical content.
Ex Lover began when Dan decided to cut ties with previous collaborators and began working on music with a darker and more self-defeating tone. Drawing from a more ‘emo’ pool of forgotten futures, broken relationships and failed ambitions, Faulkner released his first EP ‘Gloomtube’ in March 2020 and followed his initial release with the single "True Love" later the same year. "True Love" received radio play on BBC Coventry and Warwickshire Radio and Faulkner aims to push out his sound more in 2021 with live performances and more new material.
