about

Previously released as a single in 2019

Ant Gliddon (vocals), Jimmy Lapworth (guitar, vocals), Emily Knight (bass), Matt Ball (keyboards/guitar) and Andy Wheeler (drums).

Ant and Jimmy have played together as Rosetta Fire since 2009, Ant having started band life with High Rising, whose single was produced by Jamie Johnson (Paul Weller, Razorlight, Roxy Music). From 2004, Jimmy played in the band Budapest, whose healthy following in Spain saw him tour extensively in 3000 plus capacity venues.

Following the release of their debut single, ‘Against the Odds’, produced by George Shilling (Primal Scream, Teenage Fanclub, Paul Weller), the band have continued to release EPs and singles such the ‘Eighteen’ EP and “Against The Odds”, the ‘On The Line’ EP & “Last Road To Rome” before this year’s “Shakedown”.

Rosetta Fire have gigged extensively around the Midlands, playing music venues and festivals including Warwick Folk Festival and the Oxford Folk Weekend.

Their blend of tight harmonies, strong melodies and memorable lyrics with an added pinch of optimism are trademark Rosetta Fire, with each new song showing a flash of creative brilliance from a band with an unorthodox sound.

They were BBC introducing Coventry and Warwickshire 'Band Of The Month' for August 2014

Rosetta Fire “bring a bucket load of influences into the mix to create their unusual jazz and pop contaminated folk rock sounds” – Coventry Telegraph
“energetic… ‘foot-stomping’ folk, rock and a bit of jazz” – Leamington Courier

“..a band whom I'd certainly cite within my top four of five from the Coventry & Warwickshire area as one I think currently has the potential & in my opinion, deserves to do well: namely Rosetta Fire... they have been a really popular live act for some years now... I imagine that many others have commented upon the obvious honesty & integrity of their playing, coupled with their power & subtlety....” (Hot Music Live review of the ‘On The Line’ EP, June 2017)
