"A Place To Hide" originally appeared on Alchemista's 2020 EP 'On The Morrow'
Alchemista are a Coventry-based five-piece band playing their own original songs in a style best described as melodic rock. Caroline Luxton-White (lead vocals), Pete Garelick (guitar and harmony vocals), Paul Jayes (Piano and Guitar), Mark Nisbet (Bass, 2015-19) and Colin Halliwell (Drums) were brought together through their passion for well-crafted songs with big choruses, hooky grooves and poetic lyrics.
Alchemista was originally formed with a family nucleus of partners Caroline and Colin with brother Ray Halliwell on guitar. Sadly, Ray suddenly died in 2015 but a one-off advert for his replacement magically attracted a full band, including bass and keyboards. A new and improved Alchemista was soon relaunched.
Who do they sound like? Some have said they sound a little like Fleetwood Mac – maybe they do. But Alchemista aim to offer an eclectic mix of music with a quintessential ingredient.
